" ¡DEMASIADO TARDE, HÉROES! "
(APARECIDA ORIGINALMENTE EN X-MEN #134 JUNIO/1980)

JOHN BYRNE (LÁPICES), TERRY AUSTIN (TINTA)

Continued from last issue...

Cyclops has nearly been killed in psychic combat with Mastermind inside Jean's telepathic report she shared with Cyclops. As the Hellfire Club gloats over this victory, Jean looks on in worry. Before the Hellfire Club can do anything else, Wolverine bursts through the door tossing off guards as he goes. Sebastian Shaw orders Jean to attack Wolverine, which she does, however while the others are focusing on that she uses her telekinetic powers to unlock the ruby quartz helmet on Cyclops's head. Scott knocks out Donald Pierce before using his optic blast to free his fellow X-Men and blast Henry Leland.

Jean stops her fight and tells Wolverine to go join the others, Logan goes after Leland to get revenge for his earlier defeat. Cyclops defeats Shaw by blasting out the ground out from under him, and Donald Pierce manages to escape when Colossus foolishly tries to stop him in his human form. Witnessing the battle, Mastermind decides to use his illusionary powers to hide out and see what happens. As Wolverine dives down to the lower level of the Hellfire Club to attack his foe, Leland makes the stupid mistake of using his mass increasing powers on Wolverine causing him to land heavily on Leland with his claws out. As Sebastian Shaw tries to flee through the club, he is attacked by Nightcrawler and Storm.

The disturbance at the Hellfire Club does not go unnoticed, as the authorities are called in an alert also goes in at nearby Avengers Mansion where the Beast is on monitor duty. Reading about how his former friends in the X-Men involved in the commotion, he erases record of the emergency call and goes to help his old comrades.

Back at the club, Colossus catches up to Donald Pierce and gets in an arm wrestle with him. Colossus's strength proves better and he breaks Pierce's mechanical arm, however Pierce shocks Colossus in the face with his severed appendage and flees the scene. While else where in the club, Nightcrawler and Storm try their best to defeat Sebastian Shaw in battle, however he escapes as well. Meeting up with Pierce in one of the clubs many secret tunnels, he tells his comrade that he will make the X-Men pay for this. Upstairs Cyclops tries to calm the party goers, however Mastermind uses his powers to make them think that he is attacking them. Just then, the power cables that Wolverine slashed earlier in the night connect with the rising rainwater causing the power to go out in the club. Cyclops runs into Wolverine in the dark and tells him to gather the other X-Men while he goes looking for Jean.

Jean meanwhile, giving into the darkness in her soul tracks down Mastermind and pins him to the wall. She finds on him a device created by the White Queen that allowed him to beam his illusions directly into her mind. She is darkly amused, but destroys the device and then gives Mastermind what he wanted: control of cosmic power. Opening up his mind to the vastness of the universe Jean causes Mastermind to enter a catatonic state and leaves him. She runs into Scott and although she feels strange she accompanies him and the other X-Men as they flee to their ship parked in Central Park. Watching them go from the window, Shaw vows to ruin the X-Men's public image and turn them into public enemy number one.

The X-Men load up into their plane and take off just as the authorities begin to arrive. Jean, finally unable to contain herself, gives in to her darkside. Changing her costume into a crimson version of her Phoenix outfit, and announces that she is no longer the woman they knew, but power incarnate. Suddenly, the X-Men's ship explodes.

Justice League of America #64 "The Stormy Return Of The Red Tornado!"

https://mega.co.nz/#!r4cF1TRK!MkDm8-PfJ3fAd5Z5YihAJKUXuRrLS9o8eSTpPk_ButY

" EL TORMENTOSO RETORNO DE RED TORNADO! "

Earth-Two: Black Canary, Flash, Starman, Hourman and Dr. Fate meet at the Justice Society headquarters for another meeting of the group. Their meeting is interrupted by the arrival of a new Red Tornado. The JSA are shocked, because this is obviously no the Red Tornado that they remember, however the being insists that he used to be a member of the group and that he has memories of all the members including their secret identities and powers. When they have him take his mask off, they find that he is nothing more than a faceless robot underneath. When reports of attacks by similar appearing robots at a nearby museum reach the JSA, they spring into action taking the Red Tornado with them.

There they find the robots vaporizing the contents of the museum to be collected by a giant ship. The JSA and Red Tornado try to fight off the robots. Although the JSA have the upper-hand, through seeming bungling of the Red Tornado all the members are struck down and seemingly killed by the robots. Red Tornado and Dr. Fate manage to escape the same fate when they their bodies (rendered inert from paralyzing dust) causes them to fall in a nearby lake, which washes away the dust.

Pulling themselves out of the water, Red Tornado feels himself being drawn by some unknown force and leaves the scene. As it turns out, Red Tornado was created by the Earth-One villain T.O. Morrow, who had escaped to Earth-Two following his battle against the Flash and Green Lantern's of Earth-One. There he built a computer that would tell him the best way to commit his super-crimes. The computer had suggested that he create the Red Tornado as it would be the key to preventing the Justice Society from stopping him.

When the Red Tornado tries to stop T.O. Morrow, he uses his futur-energy guns to deactivate the robot. Consulting his computer to learn the best way to loot Atlantis, he is told that his key to victory would be from having the Red Tornado active and opposing him. Meanwhile, back at the Justice Society headquarters, Dr. Fate has gathered Green Lantern, Atom, Hawkman, Sandman, Mr. Terrific and Dr. Mid-Nite to try and figure a way to revive their fellow JSA members. Their alert monitor alerts them of the recently reactivated Red Tornado's battle against T.O. Morrow's robots and they go to lend him a hand. Easily defeating the robots, Red Tornado tells them that the key to reviving their fallen comrades would be to use the futur-energy guns to restore them. However, upon taking one it discharges a powerful bolt knocking out all the JSA members.

Victorious, T.O. Morrow cannot settle for just being the master of one Earth, and decides to go back to Earth-One and defeat the Justice League of America. However, when goes to consult his computer, it tells him that the only way he can defeat the Justice League is if they team up with the Red Tornado. This story is continued next issue...

The Amazing Spider-Man #203 "Bewitched, Bothered and Be-Dazzled!"

https://mega.co.nz/#!6osHlIYa!vzlHigf8HTB9vRH7Ye2wLwCJWFayck0LMl2FS64ZE8I

" DESCONCERTADO, DESBORDADO Y DESLUMBRADO! "

Swinging through the city, Spider-Man spots the Dazzler being chased by a strange orb of light. Thinking it's his old foe Will O' The Wisp again, he goes to the mutants rescue. Dazzler, not sure who to trust, attacks Spider-Man after he pulls her to safety and makes her escape from the scene. Unable to find Dazzler, Spider-Man decides to return home for the night.

There he is visited by both Harry Osborn and Flash Thompson, and completely forgot that they were going to see Star Trek: The Motion Picture for opening night. While Peter and his friends are watching the movie, not far away, Dazzler is once more pursued by the orb of light. It manages to catch her and utilizes her light powers in order to restore it to it's original form: That of Spider-Man's one-time foe the Lightmaster, who has spent all this time trapped in the light dimension and is using the Dazzler's mutant powers as a means to return to Earth. Dazzler tries to fight back, and the two end up smashing into the theater where Peter and his friends are watching the movie.

Peter manages to slip away and change into Spider-Man and tries to save Dazzler from Lightmaster but is easily defeated by his foe. Lightmaster then captures Dazzler and takes her back to his lab at Empire State University. Spider-Man recovers and deduces where Lightmaster would go and confronts him there. There he arrives too late to stop Lightmaster from using his equipment on the light generating mutant. When some of the machines explode in the battle, Spider-Man tries to save Dazzler, to find that her body has been possessed by Lightmaster.

With her mutant powers enhanced by Lightmaster's abilities, the possessed disco singer proves to be too powerful for Spider-Man to handle. Tagging her with a spider-tracer he makes his escape, changing back to Peter Parker to evade his enemy. Resting up, Peter then goes to the Daily Globe to drop off his pictures, then visits with Aunt May before looking for the Dazzler once more in the evening. He manages to find her and she is briefly back in control of herself until Lightmaster exerts his will on her once more.

This time Spider-Man has had time to deduce a way to stop Lightmaster, knocking Dazzler out he takes her back to Lightmaster's lab where he hooks her up to the same machine that Lightmaster used on her the previous night and reverses the process, sending Lightmaster back into the light dimension and freeing Dazzler from his control.

Fables #6 "Road Trip: Part One of Animal Farm" #7 "The Guns of Fabletown: Part Two of Animal Farm"

https://mega.co.nz/#!GksCTBCK!zvwiUwveC8JXiIhRFiasOGne8tgEgoWkU-55RhT-HnA

" DE VIAJE: PARTE UNO DE REBELIÓN EN LA GRANJA "

As a way of re-connecting with her estranged sister, Snow White decides to bring Rose Red along on her annual trip to The Farm, where the non-human Fables live. She leaves Bigby in charge of Jack, who is stuck doing janitorial duties at the Woodlands for his part in helping Rose fake her own death. Rose finally appears, though she bemoans having to go anywhere with her sister. Snow firmly reminds her that she could make Rose's punishment whatever she thinks it should be, and besides, she was hoping they could repair their fragmented relationship with some quality time. They leave in Snow White's rusty old pickup truck, with Colin the pig tied securely in the back, complaining the whole way.

They're forced to stop on an old country road when the truck's engine starts to smoke. As they wait for the radiator to cool, Rose impatiently wonders when they're supposed to make it to the farm. Snow explains that they have actually been driving on the Farmland for twenty miles now, the territory is far removed to keep any prying eyes away, and the Mundane never pay much attention due to all the distraction spells set into place. As she speaks, Snow spots something lying on the grass near the road. She grows curious when it turns out to be a pile of spent brass casings... bullet shells. Mundys don't come here to hunt, and if there were shots fired, someone would have called the Fabletown Office, but Snow never heard anything from anyone. So where did the shells come from? The main residential area of the Farm at first glance appears completely deserted. Voices are heard inside the barn and when Snow pushes open the big brown doors, she finds a group of animals and creatures congregating inside with Dun, eldest of the three little pigs, conducting a meeting. All are surprised when she enters, not expecting her so early in the season. Suspicious, Snow asks if this is a town meeting. Dun replies that it is, and motions to adjourn for now so they can see to their guests.

Taking Colin home, Snow and Rose spend some time in the pigs house, Dun and Posey answering questions about what they just saw. Dun says plainly that they were having a meeting about returning to the Homelands and taking it back from the Adversary, by force if necessary. Snow doesn't understand why'd they take such a foolish risk, but quite simply Dun explains they're tired of living on the Farm where they aren't allowed to leave, and would rather fight back than continue hiding. However, they assure Snow that no real plans have been made yet, which eases Snow's mind some. Before leaving, Snow asks what happened to their leader, Weyland Smith, and why he wasn't conducting the meeting as usual. Posey says he resigned suddenly.

Behind the closed door, Posey wonders if Snow believed them when they said that there hadn't been any plans laid down yet. Dun replies that without evidence, there's nothing she can do about it either way.

In the guestroom, Snow tries to remind her sister of when they were children, and made a pact to remain best friends. Rose then reminds Snow of how she "ditched her" shortly after that for a better life at a far-off castle. Snow tries explaining, but Rose won't listen. While she closes the curtains, something outside catches Snow's eye, and she calls for Rose.

The two sisters stare in horror as, in front of the guesthouse and lit up by the truck's headlights, was Colin's head stuck on the end of a wooden pole.

" LOS CAÑONES DE VILLA FÁBULA PARTE DOS DE REBELIÓN EN LA GRANJA"

Colin the Pig was dead, his decapitated head stuck on a pole, and his body nowhere to be found. Snow White and Rose Red could only watch as the Farm community helped take the head down. Dun leads Snow away from the grisly scene to talk, claiming he had no idea what could've happened. Colin had wandered off again after the girls left last night, and never returned. Snow tries to ask about Weyland again, but Dun just repeats that he resigned. Posey, meanwhile, takes the time to talk to Rose, who seemed sympathetic to their plight before. Rose admits she understands why they'd want to take back the Homelands, though she points out that in this case her sister is right. A few farmyard animals and the odd giant, troll, and beast wouldn't stand much of a chance against the Adversary's mighty legion. Posey confides that they have, in fact, come up with something of a solution, and beckons Rose to follow him to see something "really cool".

In a wooded area of the Farmlands, Papa and Mama of the Three Bears, along with Goldilocks, dump Colin's body into a freshly dug hole. Boo Bear shows up with Colin's head moments later and dumps it in as well. Mama is unsure that removing Colin's head was really neccessary. Goldilocks tells her it had to be done, as a sign to everyone that the revolution has begun and their enslavement at the Farm is at an end. Mama reminds her that she is human, and isn't stuck living on the Farm like they are. Goldilocks insists that she would never leave while her fellow Fables are "enslaved", stating that their cause is also her cause. Suddenly, Reynard the Fox speaks up from behind them. Being against the revolution idea, Reynard mockingly reminds them that Colin was on their side, and the plan was bound to fall apart if they kept killing their own. He is immediately face-to-face with the barrel of a gun as Goldilocks remarks that Colin was a weak link, and like him, Reynard now knows too much. Goldilocks is about to pull the trigger, when Papa Bear holds her back, exclaiming that people would hear if she fired the shot. Reynard uses the delay as his chance to escape.
At the same time, in a cavern, Rose Red is astonished at what Posey has shown her. The cave is packed wall-to-wall with guns and ammunition, enough to supply to the entire Farm.

Back in New York, Boy Blue calls Bigby to the Business Office when the Forsworn Knight begins to prophecize a war between north and south and two sisters fighting against one-another. Bigby believes the Knight refers to the Civil War, and combined with the fact that Snow White and Rose Red have been fighting each other for years, the prophecy is a little late. But the Forsworn Knight is not referring to the past...

Rose re-enters the guestroom that night to find Snow looking for her keys. She was going to drive out to find a phone, since the local one wasn't working. Rose flat-out tells Snow she is being naive. The phone lines were cut and the truck keys were stolen to prevent her from leaving. They didn't want her going for help. Snow wants to know just what she is talking about. Rose decides it's better if Snow remains ignorant, as the less she knows the safer she'll be. She then heads back out, telling Snow that she'll be gone for a few days and suggests not to look for her.

Reynard is being hunted. Goldilocks has sent out the best the Farm has to offer. He comes across Bagheera and Shere Khan in the woods, quickly backtracking to dodge their notice. But Bagheera cuts him off seconds later, chasing him back and over Shere Khan's back, causing an unpleasant collision between the tiger and panther. Reynard smirks as the two fight each other.

Snow White sits in her room, pondering the events that have transpired with the whole farm acting crazy. Suddenly, she hears a tapping and sees Reynard outside her window. She lets him inside and he frantically tells her to come with him, adding not to pack anything so it'll look like she's coming back

" EL ATAQUE DE DEADSHOOT "

After apprehending the The Penguin, the Batman and Robin return to the Batcave for some well-deserved rest. They begin some light-hearted sparring with one another, but the fun ends when Robin receives a distress call from Wonder Girl. He doesn't want to leave Bruce, but Batman urges him to attend his teammates in the Teen Titans.

Meanwhile at Gotham Prison, the warden ushers the Penguin into a cell next to Floyd Lawton, aka, Deadshot. The Penguin brags about his special laser monocle which he intends on using to escape from prison, but Deadshot snatches it from him and uses it to affect his own escape.

That evening, Batman goes to the Tobacconists' Club for an impromptu visit with city councilman Rupert Thorne. He criticizes him for the recent cease and desist against him and warns Thorne that from now on, they will play things "Batman's way". After Batman leaves his office, Rupert Thorne receives a haunting visitation by the ghost of Hugo Strange.

The following day, Bruce Wayne meets Silver St. Cloud at the Gotham Convention Center. Silver's company is hosting the event and while there, they run into Commissioner Gordon. Gordon tells Bruce Wayne about the recent escape of Deadshot. His mind hankers back to the first time that he fought against Deadshot.

He then takes Silver to the Fox Gardens restaurant for lunch. Silver asks him a lot of questions and Bruce fears that she may suspect that he is Batman.

That night, Bruce goes on patrol as Batman, but he doesn't have far to go before he runs afoul of Deadshot. The two fight atop the Ellsworth Building and eventually make their way back to the convention center where they trade shots while leaping across a Giant Typewriter. Batman traps Deadshot behind the over-sized carriage return. Deadshot knows he is beaten and surrenders. As Batman looks up, he sees Silver St. Cloud staring back at him. She recognizes Batman as Bruce Wayne.

Elsewhere, the Joker plans his next nefarious scheme.

" EL PEZ SONRIENTE "

The night following Deadshot’s capture at ’s Exhibition Hall, The Batman visits Silver St. Cloud in her apartment thinking she has something to say to him. Even though she is startled, she tells him that she doesn’t know anything about what happened except what she saw and doesn’t know Deadshot. She takes him by surprise by saying that “I have a date with Bruce Wayne. Do you know each other?” He suspects that maybe she doesn’t know that he is Bruce Wayne and leaves saying that he made a mistake. As he leaves The Batman hears screams for help on ’s docks. He responds and finds fisherman upset about their catch.. The Batman can’t believe his eyes as he sees fish with the Jokers face. The fisherman explains “All of ’em! And it’s all the same for everybody else The next morning the Jokers fish seems to be the only newsworthy story. The Joker visits the Copyright Commission to make business arrangements for his fish. He finds himself outraged when Carl G. Francis informs him that fish are a natural resource and that they can’t be copyrighted. The Joker tells Mr. Francis if he doesn’t comply by midnight he’ll be the poorest fish of all. The Joker visits Boss Thorne next and tells him “that he also was a bidder for Batman's identity and knows that he is behind Prof. Hugo Strange’s disappearance.” Thorne goes crazy running out the building pushing his driver out of the way and takes the wheel of his limousine and screeches’ off. Later Thorne picks up Silver St. Cloud who also seems to be leaving town. That night the Batman along with Commissioner Gordon and the police plan to stop the Joker from killing Carl G. Francis. To no avail the Joker succeeds in killing Mr. Francis with a gas that was part of a binary compound and announces that the number 2 bureaucrat will be next if he doesn’t get his way.

" EL SIGNO DEL JOKER! "

The Joker still wants the copyright to his Joker-fish and promises to kill the number 2 bureaucrat if he gets no cooperation. The Gotham Police surround the number 2 bureaucrat Thomas Jackson’s House. Inside with Commissioner Gordon, the Batman disguises himself as Thomas Jackson and Jackson as Batman intending to confuse the Jokers plan of murder. Jackson’s cat walks into the room and inside his mouth a Joker-fish. Maddened, affected by the fish it quickly jumps at the throat of its master, killing him as a hideous grin spreads over Thomas Jackson's face. The Joker announces his success on the television and vows to kill the next member of the commission in the next two hours.

After Boss Thorne picked up a hitchhiking Silver St. Cloud ,he's gets angry with her disliking the topic of discussion and kicks her out of his vehicle. She walks to a small airport nearby thinking of chartering a flight. Later on as Boss Thorne drives through the storm he sees the ghost of Hugo Strange. It spirits through Boss Thorne’s windshield choking him. With the police surrounding the apartment of the third bureaucrat, the Batman surprises the Joker who was disguised as a policeman. Their climatic confrontation ends up outside where a storm is raging. They face off on a girder above Gotham River at a nearby construction site. The Joker squirts acid from his badge. The Batman makes a desperate leap for safety as lightning hits the girder. The Joker falls to his seeming death. Silver gets out of a taxi to see the battles end. The Batman scans the river for the Joker, as she approaches him. She explains and says” I love you—but I couldn’t live never knowing what each night would bring! Never knowing when your luck would run out!” As she leaves, Commissioner Gordon approaches the Batman telling him that Boss Thorne was picked up babbling every crime he ever committed and that he was now free of all "Cease and Desist " charges that were against him.
