Deadpool #2 - The Circle Chase: Round 2 - Rabbit Season, Duck Season

" RABBIT SEASON, DUCK SEASON "

Mr. Gezdbadah runs from mercenaries down the streets of Cairo. He is finally stopped and they ask him for his briefcase that he is carrying. He hands it to them and suddenly, Deadpool swoops in and grabs a hold of it. He tells them that he is taking the case. They shoot at him and he turns and returns fire. Mr. Gezdbadah tells Deadpool that the case holds a disc showing information about Tolliver's will. He says a man named Mr. Foley gave it to him and he also says that the prize at the end of this chase to get Tolliver's will is the most powerful weapon on the planet. Suddenly, Juggernaut busts down the wall and tries to attack Deadpool. He dodges and then is almost blasted by Black Tom Cassidy who has also shown up. Deadpool runs and drops the case. Black Tom goes to Mr. Gezdbadah and asks him about the will. 

In New Jersey, Sluggo greets Mrs. Carlysle at her home. He asks her if she has heard from her daughter, Vanessa recently. She tells him no and he apologizes and then turns to leave. Then, a noose wraps around his neck and lifts him off the ground. Vanessa is on the roof of her mothers home and tells Sluggo that he is going to pay for what he did when he killed her friend Tina. He tells her that Deadpool has been looking for her. She then grabs him and throws him through her mother's window and tells her to call the police. She then takes off to go find Tolliver's will and be rich and happy. 

Meanwhile, Courier meets with a man named Mr. Bashur. Bashur asks what his assignment is and Courier says that he has an order from the Executive Elite to take out a hit on Deadpool, Copycat, and Cable for the death of Nyko's brother Pico. The fee for doing this is information that will give Mr. Bashur a good advantage in finding Tolliver's will. Bashur tells Courier that he has a deal and that Deadpool had better say his prayers as he is first on the list. 

In Cairo airport, Black Tom and Juggernaut board a plane to leave Cairo to go to Dublin. Deadpool calls Weasel from the airport and Weasel tells him the flight that Tom and Juggernaut are leaving on and then says it is leaving right then. Deadpool races out on the tarmac as the plane is about to fly. He jumps on the wheel and climbs in the plane as it starts its ascent. Black Tom is about to order a bloody Mary as Deadpool blasts through the plane's floor. He hits the briefcase in the overhead luggage and they all go after it. Deadpool then throws grenades at the planes door since Tom is standing in front of it and it blows open and sucks Tom out. Juggernaut goes jumping out after him. Deadpool closes the door and then gets the disc with all the information on it. He then turns to everyone and tells them to order drinks and that the plane is officially hijacked. 

In Maine, Weapon X returns home. He gets off the boat and walks inside. He is greeted by Slayback. Slayback grabs his throat and tells him that he is looking for Deadpool. He says that he wants to know and he will let Kane live if he tells him. He also says that he has waited ten years to come "back from the dead" and he wants to see Deadpool dead and he wants to be the one to do it.

Deadpool #1 - The Circle Chase: Round 1 - Ducks in a Row

" THE CIRCLE CHASE 1: DUCKS IN A ROW "

As mercenaries hunt for Deadpool on the war-torn streets of Sarajevo, our hero heads to his safehouse to find Weasel. Weasel and Deadpool talk about Tolliver's will and how Tolliver has left his estate and money up for grabs. While they talk, Weapon X arrives and a fight breaks out. Both Deadpool and Weapon X are looking for information, the only problem is that neither one has the information the other is needing. Weasel manages to bring the two to their sense ending the fight but, before Weapon X leaves, he warns Deadpool that Slayback has been found alive.

Meanwhile, in France, Juggernaut raids a genetic research facility looking for Black Tom. A man named Louis Banque tells him that he was expected and that he was told by a Mr. Foley that Tolliver wanted Black Tom taken care of.

In India, Nyko, the brother of Pico, runs from mercenaries and crashes meets with Courier. Courier wants information from Nyko on Tolliver's will but it turns out he knows nothing about it. Nyko then gives Courier a message to give to Deadpool. He says it is from the Executive Elite and they want Deadpool killed.

In Department K, Slayer steals a file that shows both Deadpool and Garrison Kane were a part of the Weapon X training program in 1986.

The X-Men leave Muir Island in Scotland, but Banshee decides to stay with Moira. Havok and Polaris still think they don't belong with the X-Men, and also stay behind with Madrox. During the flight, Jean has visions about her past with Jason Wyngard again, and it is even more real than last time. When they finally get to the Mansion X, sensors warn that there's a person inside, but when they enter, it's Professor X, back from the Shiar Empire. After some days of rest, Jean still thinks she can't control the Phoenix Force and is afraid. Professor X is having problems training the X-Men, treating them like children as he used to do with his first students. Cyclops tries to argue that they are all grown men now, specially Wolverine and Storm, but Xavier doesn't want to listen. Suddenly, cerebro alarm goes out and there is two new mutants detected, one in New York, to which Xavier sends Jean, Cyclops and Nightcrawler, and another in Chicago, where Xavier goes with Storm, Colossus and Wolverine. Xavier says he will use the trip to know his new students better.

Meanwhile, in the Hellfire Club in Chicago, Wyngarde is watching everything happening in X-Mansion, with Sebastian Shaw, Harry Leland, Donald Pierce and Emma Frost, all members of the Inner Circle.

In Chicago, a young girl named Katherine Pryde is arriving home after school, and Emma Frost is at her place talking with her parents about a school in Massachusetts. Kitty says she's having headaches again and goes to her room. Surprisingly, she appears back in the living room after a huge headache. Soon after Emma leaves, the X-Men arrive with Professor X and invite Kitty to join his school. They went to an ice cream place and Kitty soon becomes friends with Ororo and likes Peter very much. Suddenly, the window crashes and three armored guys enter and attack the X-Men. During the battle, Wolverine realizes that the enemies know them and are prepared for their powers, and changes targets with Storm. That works and they win the battle, but during the fight Kitty passes through the walls and discovers she has some kind of power. Then Emma Frost uses her mental powers to knock out the three X-Men and captures them. At the end Kitty Pride follows the group using her power to enter the hovercraft.

Note: This is the first appearance of the popular X-men Kitty Pryde, Carmen pryde, Terri Pryde, Donald Pierce, Harry Leland, and Emma Frost (who was a villain during her first appearances). And one of the greatest X-men-villains, Sebastian Shaw.

" DAZZLER + DENTRO Y FUERA "

(ORIGINALMENTE PUBLICADO EN THE X-MEN #130 FEB/1980)

Cyclops, Jean Grey and Nightcrawler were sent to a night club in New York City to investigated another mutant detected by Cerebro. In Chicago, Emma Frost had captured Xavier, Colossus, Wolverine and Storm and is talking to Sebastian Show, when Kitty Pryde sneaks in through a wall in the room and listens to the talk. When Emma leaves the room she talks to Storm, who gives her a phone number to call backup from the X-Men. Kitty is discovered by Hellfire Soldiers, but she escapes jumping through the ground.

Back in NY, Jean is having those dreams again about her ancestor, now she was getting married with Jason Wyngard and when she kissed him, in real life she is actually kissing a guy just like her dreams. Cyclops sees it and thinks Jean isn't acting like herself anymore. Suddenly the show starts and a beautiful girl starts to sing, dazzling with thousands of lights. At same time the Mini-Cerebro devide in Cyclops's watch starts to beep, showing that this girl is a mutant. Outside, inside the X-Men's Rolls Royce, the phone rings and Nightcrawler answers a frightened Kitty. At same time, a Hellfire Soldier attacks Nightcrawler knowing his mutant power very well and using a sonic blast just like Cyclops did in Danger Room the other day. Inside the club, two more Soldiers attack and defeat Cyclops and Jean, also knowing very well their powers. Then, the singer, Dazzler, uses her powers to make light and helps Jean and Cyclops, who with the help of Nightcrawler defeat the bad guys. The X-Men run away in their car and Cyclops sees the guy who had kissed Jean in the streets, and there is something wrong with his shadow at the wall.

Kitty Pryde is hunted down by the White Queen’s Hellfire Club Guards, but is saved by the X-Men. Kitty leads the X-Men to the White Queen’s complex and Kitty phases to the chamber where Wolverine and Colossus are being held and frees Wolverine. The X-Men take out the Hellfire club Guards, while the White Queen attempts to destroy Storm’s mind but is prevented by Phoenix. The White Queen and Phoenix then engage in a psychic battle. Just as Phoenix is about to win, Emma detonates the lab. Phoenix saves herself and Storm, but the White Queen seemingly was killed in the explosion. Later, the X-Men say their goodbyes to Dazzler. Kitty’s parents are about to make a scene, until Phoenix, annoyed, modifies their memories, an act which leaves Cyclops and Storm worried about the changes in Jean.
