The Amazing Spider-Man #19 - Spidey Strikes Back!

The Daily Bugle continues its editorials on Spider-Man being washed up, but Spider-Man comes out of nowhere and rounds up bank robbers. As J Jonah Jameson learns the news, he takes his frustration outside where Human Torch is distracted and gets tied up by the Enforcers and smothered out by the Sandman. As Peter goes home from another day at school, he sees Fancy Dan walking down the street. Suspecting something sinister might be afoot, Spider-Man follows him and fights them at their hideout, but as the police show up, The Enforcers flee. Peter then turns up at the Daily Bugle and Betty Brant introduces him to another reporter, Ned Leeds and gives his approval of her seeing him much to her surprise. Meanwhile, at another hideout, we see Human Torch trapped in a glass jar with just enough air to breathe but not enough air to turn his flame on and escape. Sandman plans to use Human Torch as bait to lure Spider-Man in his trap and Spider-Man learns this from a stool pigeon named Louie. As Spider-Man descends he sees The Human Torch and plays ball with Sandman and the Enforcers and finally rolls into the glass jar to set Human Torch free. The Enforcers are rounded up, but Human Torch and Spider-Man get tangled in Spidey's webbing as Sandman runs away but gets caught shortly after by two policemen. The issue ends with a mysterious figure who's following Peter Parker home from school and reporting to the surveillance a mysterious figure in a green robe whose face cannot be seen.

The Amazing Spider-Man #14 - The Grotesque Adventure of the Green Goblin

La Grotesca Aventura del Duende Verde

No es un nuevo villano en la ciudad, el es el Duende Verde. Después de que perfeccionó su escoba voladora el hace una visita a Los Ejecutores y les ofrece la oportunidad de vengarse en contra de Spider-Man. Luego viaja a California para visitar a BJ Cosmos, un director de cine que hizo a lo grande con su última película "La cosa sin nombre de la laguna de Negro en la Ciénaga de Turbias". El Duende le ofrece la idea de su próxima pelicula: Una película sobre Spider-Man.

Al regresar a Nueva York, el Duende Verde luego se va en círculos alrededor de la ciudad hasta que consigue la atención de Spider-Man. Él hace la oferta de cine con Spider-Man que se compromete a participar en la pelicula. Con el anuncio de que Spider-Man va a estar en una película, J. Jonah Jameson envía a Peter a Hollywood para cubrir la historia, esto preocupa a Betty Brant, porque cree que Peter caera por alguna estrella de la pantalla de plata.

Al llegar a California, informa Peter al estudio de BJ Cosmos como Spider-Man que ya llego, y él, el Duende Verde y lo que él cree que son los actores que se asemejan mucho a los Ejecutores son llevados a Nuevo México para una secuencia de lucha que se filmó en el desierto.

Allí, el Duende Verde revela sus verdaderos motivos y Spider-Man pelea contra él y los Ejecutores a través del desierto. Su lucha les lleva a una cueva, donde Spider-Man derrota fácilmente a los Ejecutores. Sin embargo, se topan con el escondite de Hulk. Spider-Man se ve obligado a defenderse del gigante de jade. Él usa la fuerza de Hulk a su favor, Despues Hulk rompe una roca bloqueando la salida de la cueva.

El Duende Verde se escapa, y peter se esconde hasta que Hulk salga del área, que luego sale de la Ejecutores para ser recogidos por la policía. De regreso a Hollywood, Spider-Man encuentra que BJ Cosmos ha decidido cambiar la idea de la película de Spider-Man a favor de una película de Hulk. Cuando Spider-Man exige el pago, se le deniega, Cosmos citando el contrato que firmó que Spider-Man sólo se le pagara si la película se terminó. Peter se ve forzado a usar el resto de su dinero con el autobús de vuelta a Nueva York. Mientras tanto, en algún lugar de la ciudad, el Duende Verde reanuda su disfraz civil misterioso y comienza trazando su siguiente esquema contra Spider-Man.

The Amazing Spider-Man #10 "The Enforcers"

" ENFORCERS "

The crime boss Big Man has gathered a group called the Enforcers in order to strong arm all the other gangs in New York to work for him. When the other mobsters refuse, they are beaten into submission by Ox, Montana and Fancy Dan. Meanwhile, Peter visits his Aunt May in the hospital and is told that she needs a blood transfusion. He's worried that his radioactive blood would have an adverse effect on his aunt,and he is pressured into participating in the transfusion. 

Later as Spider-Man, Peter busts some crooks working for the Big Man. When Jameson is on the scene, he demands that the police also arrest Spider-Man, because he suspects that Big Man and Spider-Man are the same character, and Spider-Man's aiding the law is just to throw the police off. Returning to the Bugle, he demands writer Frederick Foswell to say as much in the Bugle's paper. When Foswell reminds Jameson that when the last time the Bugle reported that Spider-Man was also doubling as a costumed villain (Electro), the Bugle ended up looking bad when it turned out to be false. 

When Betty Brant gets off work, she is confronted by the Enforcers who are coming to collect a loan from her. Peter tries to get involved and allows the Enforcers to push him around not wishing to reveal his identity. When Peter tries to find out what was going on Betty flees. 

Deciding to deal with the Enforcers and Big Man, Peter constructs a giant spider's web complete with a giant spider in order to scare a crook stool pigeon into revealing the location of Big Man's secret hideout. 

His battle with the Enforcers ends with the Enforcers retreating. When Spider-Man sees J. Jonah Jameson on the scene, he begins to suspect that Jameson might be the Big Man. Peter later finds that Betty is not answering her phone, and later at the Bugle he learns that she has quit her job.

Peter decides to deal with the Big Man with a new plan: The next day at school, he starts bragging about how he's figured out the Big Man's secret identity hoping that word would get back to the Big Man. Sure enough, it does and the Big Man sends the Enforcers to capture Peter. Locked in a cell, Peter changes into Spider-Man and breaks out of his cell. He then battles Big Man, the Enforcers, and their hoods. 

The Big Man escapes during the fight, but Spider-Man is more than convinced that Jameson is really the Big Man. Going to the Bugle building to expose Jameson, he finds Jameson yelling at Foswell about the story he wrote when the police burst in and reveal the Big Man is Foswell, who shows that he pulled off the identity with padded clothing that made him look bigger. After Foswell is taken away by the police, Jameson admits to himself that he hates Spider-Man because he represents everything that he is not. While Peter returns home to find that there is still no word from Betty Brant, Betty sits alone in a small town in Pennsylvania wishing there was some way she could get Spider-Man's help.
